THE MERGING of two of the world’s most prominent publishing houses may be good news for the New Zealand industry.
Penguin Books and Random House are combining to form the world’s largest publisher of books.
Rachel Lawson leads the publishing programme at Whitireia polytech and she says the merger could make room in the industry for New Zealand’s strong independent publishers to get more business.
